The iTaukei Trust Fund Board was established to advance the standards of living of iTaukei and Rotumans through a better utilisation of their resources and to conserve and enhance their cultures, traditions, norms, languages and values. Our goal is for today’s youth and future generations to be grounded in language, culture and a way of life that fosters a strong identity and resiliency. iTaukei Trust Fund Board embraces sustainable development goals while at the same time ensures the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage.

What We Do

Vanua Fieldwork

Vanua Fieldwork is a presentation of visual images and videos of distinctive cultural norms and practices succinctly unique to a tribe or tikina, or to a province within Fiji.

Sauvaki Ni Vanua

TTFB, together with the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs (MTA) and the iTaukei Affairs Board (TAB) collaborated to develop a traditional leadership and governance training programme.

Rotuman Fine Mat Weaving

Rotuma is well known for its fine mats and in 2006, TTFB provided funding to facilitate the recognition and conservation of the skills in Rotuman Fine Mat Weaving.

Fijian Language Studies

The Fijian Language Studies Programme is offered at the University of the South Pacific’s (USP’s) School of Pacific Arts, Communication and Education (SPACE), Laucala Campus.
