PARTLY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIPS

Background

The iTaukei Trust Fund Board (TTFB), in partnership with the University of Fiji (UNIFIJI), invites
applications from eligible individuals interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in iTaukei
Language, Literature and Culture, and Management under the Centre for iTaukei Studies.
This initiative is aligned with the mandated objectives of the Fund to support the undertaking,
promotion and sponsoring of programmes in iTaukei and Rotuman languages, culture and
heritage; and the development of leadership, management and entrepreneurial skills of iTaukei
and Rotumans.

The broad aims of the BA TLLC/Mgmt programme are to develop language and cultural
proficiency, enhance academic reseach on issues affecting iTaukei communities, and prepare
students for effective leadership, management and entrepreneurship.

Scholarship Coverage

The partly funded scholarships will cover:
1. Tuition Fees – Full coverage for the duration of the program.
2. Book and Resource Allowance – Support for study materials and academic resources.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:
1. Be a citizen of Fiji and of iTaukei descent.
2. Have completed Year 13 or equivalent with a strong academic record.
3. Must be registered as a full time student for the 2025 academic year.
4. Demonstrate a keen interest in iTaukei language, culture, and management studies.
5. Show leadership potential and a commitment to contributing to iTaukei community development.
6. Be willing to actively participate in cultural programs and research projects.
*Mature entry will also be considered.

Application Requirements

Interested applicants must submit:

  • A completed EOI application form (available upon request).
  • A personal statement (500 words) outlining:
    • Motivation for applying.
    • How the program aligns with their future goals.
    • Their contribution to the preservation and promotion of iTaukei heritage.
  • Certified copies of academic transcripts and certificates.
  • An Offer Letter from UNIFIJI.
  • A copy of their Birth Certificate and TIN letter.
