Our Logo
Our logo draws its inspiration from two elements, both synonymouswith our islands and our people.
We have the majestic Pacific Ocean; we are people of the sea. Like our forefathers, we are also seafarers, who over the course of time have looked to and depended on the Sun (and the stars) for guidance.
From the life-sustaining Pacific Ocean, we present the Golden Cowrie, one of the rarest and most exotic of marine shells. For the iTaukei, the Golden Cowrie has a deep entrenching cultural significance, being a sacred totem of mana and good fortune, traditionally worn around the neck of a chieftain as a symbol of status, prestige and power.
And then surrounding the Golden Cowrie are the magnificent overarching and energizing rays of the Sun. The blue rays signify our closeness to the ocean whilst the red symbolises our sovereignty, though we are independent, we remain interconnected and united through our traditional blood ties. The strength in our bond enables us to collectively forge ahead, innovatively adapting to a rapidly changing world.
