The two new board members are Mr. Jovilisi Suveinakama and Dr. Amerita Ravuvu. They bring with them a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of legal, social and medical science respectively.

Dr. Ravuvu is a early career policy research and development practitioner with a trans-disciplinary professional background in human geography, development studies and medical anthropology. She is a Senior Advisor at the Pacific Community’s (SPC) Public Health Division.

Additionally, Mr. Suveinakama brings with him lots of experience in the  field of legal, national and international development. Mr. Suveinakama is a Consultant Lawyer at Toganivalu Legal. He has worked in various arms of government  including chief police and strategic advisor to the Government of Tokelau from 2010 to 2017.

Both appointees were warmly welcomed to the board and briefed by Mr. Aisake Taito the Chief Executive Officer iTaukei Trust Fund Board.

Dr. Ravuvu highlighted that prior to joining the board, she had few reservations about the kind of work TTFB was involved in. However, at the end of the presentation by CEO, she was confident that she would contribute effectively towards the goals of TTFB.

“I commend the team for the great work carried out so far. I believe that not many people know about the great work your team does, and I must thank the team for all you have done in trying to uplift the well-being of iTaukei and Rotumans. I will continue to support the work you do on the ground”, says Dr. Ravuvu.

Mr. Suveinakama alluded the same sentiments as his counterpart.

“I am delighted to be seated here and witness first-hand the great work TTFB has been doing over the years. I also look forward to supporting your planned activities for the coming year”, says Mr. Suveinakama.
